Gifted and Talented

  • Education ReEnvisioned BOCES utilizes the state definition of a gifted student and this definition shall serve as the basis for implementing all gifted program elements as described below.

    The state definition of gifted and talented is as follows:

    Gifted students include gifted students with disabilities (i.e., twice-exceptional) and students with exceptional abilities or potential from all socioeconomic and ethnic, cultural populations. Gifted students are capable of high performance, exceptional production, or exceptional learning behavior under any or a combination of these areas of giftedness:

      • Science
      • Social Studies
      • World Languages
      • Writing
    • Specific Talent Aptitudes
      • Creative or Productive Thinking
      • Dance
